SUMMARY:Operationalizing Data Privacy in Today’s Landscape
DESCRIPTION:Join the ACEDS Toronto Chapter for an educational event\n\n\nWith ever-evolving privacy regulations and compliance requirements\, this session will explore the technologies available for operationalizing and managing your data privacy program. Join Epiq for a discussion on the similarities and difference between regulations as it relates to compliance obligations; the practical implications for organization’s privacy compliance; and the common workflows and procedures utilized today\, including available technology options. \nModerator: \nLauren Fishman\, Vice President\, MT>3\, a division of McCarthy Tétrault LLP \nLauren Fishman is Vice President and a lawyer at MT>3\, a division of McCarthy Tétrault LLP. She has over 15 years of e-Discovery experience. Her practice involves providing advice to clients on e-Discovery\, litigation management and information governance (“IG”) matters. Lauren is knowledgeable about e-Discovery best practices and technology with experience managing the complete e-Discovery process – from identification\, preservation and collection through to analysis of large data sets using technology\, complex electronic document reviews and production. Lauren also advises clients on IG best practices and guidelines for managing electronic information\, including implementation strategies. She provides advice to clients on data retention requirements\, record classification plans and retention schedules\, and provides legal advice and opinions regarding digitization and defensible disposition and remediation\, with a focus on leveraging technology to implement this advice. Lauren is actively involved in the e-Discovery community. She is an active member of Sedona Canada\, a Director at Large of the Toronto ACEDS chapter\, and the former Director of the Toronto Chapter of Women in e-Discovery (WiE). \nSpeaker: \nTrena Patton\,  Solutions Architect\, Epiq \nTrena consults with corporate and law firm clients in the area of electronic discovery in building and maintaining high-quality and efficient workflows and processes. Trena is a drafting team leader for the Sedona Conference WG1 Commentary on Managing eDiscovery in Small Cases and served as the Charlotte Chapter Director of Women in eDiscovery. Trena holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting & Finance from UNC Greensboro\, a Master of Science in Accounting from College of Charleston and a Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University. \nSponsored by:
